Urban soundscapes: Ocean\\Hiss - an acoustic walk through the city
Sun, Oct 6, 2024, 2 – 4 PM
In the last acoustic walk of the season, we will be travelling thematically and locally around the Hörn. The harbour tip of the Kiel Fjord has long been neglected in terms of urban development - yet it is one of the city's most exciting hubs, as all the important infrastructures of land and water meet here and also form important transit areas between east and west within Kiel. We quickly lose sight of the fact that we really are by the sea here... We talk to Anne-Lena Cordts from the neighbourhood office Mitte as well as local residents and artists about their relationship to the Hörn and trace both the characteristic sounds of the sea and the noise pollution above and below the water.
A cooperation between the Laboratory for Sound and Space and the Mitte neighbourhood office as part of the reconnecting.earth biennial
Supported by the City of Kiel and the Netzwerk für Revolutionäre Ungeduld e.V.
