Antje Majewski
Antje Majewski was born in 1968 in Mari, Germany, and lives and works in Berlin. An artist and initiator of various research projects combining artistic approach and activism, she works primarily as a painter and filmmaker. Her transdisciplinary and collaborative practice explores ecofeminism, political ecology of things and nature/culture entanglement. In her figurative paintings bordering on photorealism, Antje Majewski is interested in traditional existential questions as well as the psychological and social relationships of the individual.
On almost two thirds of the poster, two photographs of urban views show a plant that has found its place in the middle of the asphalt. The name of this plant, widely considered to be a weed, is broken down into ten more or less vulgar names, the most common of which is "Chenopodium white".
