Diana Lelonek (born 1988 in Poznań/Poland) lives and works in Warsaw. In her work, she explores the relationship between humans and other living beings. She uses photography, living matter and found objects to create a body of work that seeks to be inclusive, often at the intersection of art and science. In the form of critical responses to the processes of overproduction, unlimited growth and a utilitarian, anthropocentric view of the environment, her projects show nature in transition – especially because of uninhibited human activity and influence.

In addition to the sound installation ‘Melting Gallery’, co-created with the artist Denim Szram, Diana Lelonek shows the panorama ‘Geneva (after melting glacier)’, which she created for the biennial ‘(re)connecting.earth (02) - Beyond Water’ and which was applied to the windows of the historic landing bridge building in Pâquis. The artist had taken the underlying photo of Lake Geneva from the same location a few weeks before the exhibition and then edited it digitally. The shot has been translated into a dystopian landscape, a speculative scenario that shows how the city and the lake could change as glaciers melt and tributaries of Lake Geneva dry up from rising temperatures.
